AFROTC at either Illinois Institute of Technology or Southern Illinois University...?

I want to go in as a freshman without a scholarship and I am going to major in electrical engineering. Does anyone have any experience with these schools/programs? And is it difficult to obtain a field training spot, And wouldn't my major help.
